You were born an artist.

The world just made you forget.

Our ancestors didn't call it "making art." They picked up charred sticks and pressed ochre-stained hands to stone walls—not because they were artists, but because they were human. Expression wasn't a talent. It was survival. It was joy.

Then art became Art with a capital A—something you had to earn the right to do. Something for the gifted, the trained, the special. The rest of us quietly set down our utensils and told ourselves we weren't creative.

I'm here to tell you that was a lie. And I'm here to help you unlearn it.

WHO THIS IS FOR

This is for you, wherever you are in your creative journey.

  • The Helper — You spend your days caring for everyone else. Teachers, therapists, social workers, doctors, nurses, first responders, caregivers — you pour yourself out until there's nothing left. You hold space for others, but who holds space for you? You need something that's truly just for you: an outlet to express what you can't say out loud, to process what you carry, and to refill your well. Making art isn't self-indulgent — it's how you metabolize everything you absorb. It's how you stay whole while giving so much away.

  • The Lost Creative — You used to make things. You remember what it felt like to lose yourself in the work, to have your hands moving without overthinking. Then, life got loud. Work got demanding. Creativity became something you'd do "someday when there's time." Now you sit down with a blank canvas and freeze. The spark is still in there — it just needs air, permission, and a gentle way back. You don't need to become someone new. You just need to remember who you were before you forgot. Art isn't extra — it's the part of you that's been waiting.

  • The Re-Inventor — Retirement opens a door you've been walking past for decades. You finally have time — real time, your own time. But you don't just want to fill it. You want something that brings meaning, beauty, and the deep satisfaction of making something with your own hands. Creativity isn't about becoming an artist in your golden years. It's about discovering what lights you up when productivity is no longer the measure. It's about making something that didn't exist before you sat down. That kind of purpose doesn't retire.

  • The Awakening — You've spent years saying "I'm not artistic." But lately, something in you knows that work-eat-sleep on repeat isn't the whole story. There's a restlessness. A pull toward something more expressive, more alive. You're drawn to the idea of making art, but you don't know where to start — or if you're even "allowed" to try. Here's the truth: you were never "not creative." You were just waiting for permission. Making art isn't about talent. It's about giving yourself space to explore, experiment, and discover a part of yourself you've been ignoring. This is your permission.

My coaching is informed by training and licensure in art therapy, as well as experience with creative processing, nervous-system awareness, and reflective practice. While Spark & Flow Creative Coaching LLC is not therapy, and does not provide mental health treatment, this background shapes how I approach pacing, safety, and collaboration within creative experiences, which brings value to the coaching services I provide.
